Crypto Address Validator

Check whether a Bitcoin or Ethereum address is valid, with its type, network and checksum.

How it works

Paste a Bitcoin or Ethereum address to check whether it is valid. We verify Base58Check and Bech32/Bech32m checksums for Bitcoin (legacy, SegWit and Taproot) and the EIP-55 checksum for Ethereum/EVM addresses, then show the address type and network. Validation runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Does a valid address mean it is safe to send to?

It only means the address is correctly formed and the checksum passes, so you did not mistype it. It does not verify who owns it — always double-check the recipient.

What is an EIP-55 checksum?

Ethereum addresses use mixed upper/lowercase letters as a checksum. A mixed-case address with the wrong capitalisation is flagged invalid here, which catches typos.

Which address types are supported?

Bitcoin P2PKH/P2SH (legacy), SegWit (bech32) and Taproot (bech32m), plus Ethereum/EVM addresses — on mainnet and testnet.
