How it works
Every day Chartle picks a real 180-day slice of Bitcoin or Ethereum price history and strips the labels off it. You get five tries to name the coin and the year. After each guess you learn whether the coin was right and whether the real year is earlier or later, so you can close in even if you are new to crypto charts. Everyone in the world gets the same chart each day, and your streak and result stay on your device — there is nothing to sign up for.

How do I play Chartle?
Look at the chart, pick a coin (BTC or ETH) and a year, then press Guess. You have five tries. Each guess tells you whether the coin is correct and whether the real year is earlier or later than the one you picked, which narrows it down quickly.
Where does the chart data come from?
From the same bundled daily closing-price history that powers our Bitcoin data studies. The chart shows 180 real consecutive days, normalised so the price level cannot give the year away — only the shape of the move is visible.
Does everyone get the same chart?
Yes. The puzzle is derived from the UTC date, so every player worldwide sees the same chart on the same day, and a new one appears at midnight UTC. That is what makes the shareable result grid worth posting.
